Hello loves! I am really excited about this post. Bae and I love to take road trips. When we first met, this was a major topic of decision that connected us even more. We decided early on that travel would be an important part of our relationship. Since we both have demanding jobs, it's vital for our survival to get away from our daily routines by getting fresh air in another city. If you like to get in the car and drive like we do, these trips will be great for you.

Here you will find our top 3 cities to visit when we decide to hit the road. So, let's get right into it.

Road Trip #3: Orlando, Florida

Warm weather, palm trees and all the vibes. Orlando is where we go when we need a fun, entertaining getaway, but tropical without breaking the bank. I have been in love with Orlando for years, solely due to my love for Disney World and the surrounding theme parks. Bae and I just recently visited Epcot and had an amazing time exploring the park and eating in World Showcase. (Epcot is now my fave of all the Disney parks.) Besides the park, this time we got out in the city and I am starting to actually like the area for what it has to offer.

During our recent weekend trip we stayed at Cirrus, a Sonder Hotel. This hotel offers a completely remote check-in experience that gives you the feeling of a home away from home. The decor and finishes of this room made us feel more at home with the modern sofa and coffee table, the black finishes in the bathroom and TV with built in streaming capabilities. (I will do a future post dedicated to Sonder, so check back later.) We dinned the first night at Estefan Kitchen Orlando, owned by Gloria and Emilio Estefan at Sunset Walk . This was our first time having authentic Cuban food and I'm ready to go back for more. The service was top tier and the live music was awesome. This spot definitely gives entertainment and excitement for a fun date night. Before we headed back to NC, we stopped at Keke's Breakfast Cafe. Now, this here was by far one of the best breakfast spots I've had while traveling. Keke's put us in the mind of First Watch. This comfort-food spot gave all the homemade breakfast vibes and in my opinion, it is giving First Watch a run for its money. Next time you are in Orlando, you will want to consider these for your trip.

From North Carolina, it takes us about 7.5 hours from our place to get to Orlando.

Road Trip #2: Charleston, South Carolina

Southern charm, historic architecture and romantic vibes. Charleston is always our place to relax and unwind. This city did not become a love of mine until Bae brought me here. In being a creative, I love a city with a unique arts culture, good food and vibes I can romanticize. Charleston gives me this.

When we're here, we enjoy eating at our favorite spot, Page's Okra Grill. Everything, I mean everything, on the menu is a hit, never a miss. The downtown shops are great for exploring and people watching. (IYKYK lol) During the day we either explore the historic sites of the city or visit Isle of Palms. By nightfall, we usually stay at Hyatt Place Mount Pleasant Town Centre or will enjoy a night drive back home. There is something special about driving at night with the one you love listening to a smooth R&B playlist. Charleston will forever be our place for intentional connection away from the demands of the world.

Road Trip #1: New York, New York

From the skyscrapers in Manhattan to the neighborhood vibes of Brooklyn, New York is by far my favorite city. For most people they would not think of driving from NC to NY, but for us, it's some of our best bonding time. Being born from Brooklyn and never getting to live there until 25, and only for a short time, I go back to NY every chance I get. When I met Bae, he had not been to NY since his childhood. Once we went together he was hooked, maybe even more than me lol. We decided after our first year together that NY would be one of our forever homes.

When we're in the city, we are all over. We usually stay in the financial district at the Hyatt Centric Wall Street New York. Since Bae is in finance, and we strongly believe in positioning ourself so God can bless us, we love staying on Wall Street and praying over our future life. It's a plus that we actually love the area and it has started to feel like home when we’re there. (I'll get into this more in a future post.) Brooklyn will always have a special place in my heart. We go all over eating and just taking in the culture and beauty of the borough.

A few of our favorite spots to eat in NY are Cuts and Slices (Brooklyn, Bed-Stuy), Golden Diner (Manhattan, China Town), Magnolia's Bakery (Manhattan, Bleeker Street), Mono Mono (Manhattan, East Village), Peechy Keen (Manhattan, Hell's Kitchen), Crabby Shack (Brooklyn, Bed-Stuy) and Tr (Brooklyn, Downtown - Atlantic Ave.) There will definitely be many post on my love for this amazing city, so check back for more.

From North Carolina, it takes us about 10.5 hours from our place to get to New York.
